INITIAL TERMS OF PERMITS, DECALS AND TAXIPLATES

A. For administrative purposes, it is the Bureau’s goal to have staggered renewal dates for decals, taxiplates and permits.
B. Notwithstanding Chapter 16.40’s 12-month term period for vehicle decals, taxiplates, driver’s permits and company permits, the initial term for all permits are to be determined by alphabetical name and some initial terms will be for a period greater or less than 12 months.
C. All driver and company issued prior to June 19, 2009 expire on December 31, 2009.
D. All driver and company permits initially permitted after June 19, 2009 and prior to December 31, 2009 will expire as described in subsection G below.
E. The initial permit term for currently permitted drivers and companies following their December 31, 2009 expiration is outlined in subsection H below, and after these initial permit terms end all permits expire and must be renewed every 12 months thereafter.
F. For drivers the initial term is based on the first letter of the driver’s officially, legally-recognized last name as of June 19, 2009, and for companies the initial term is based on the first letter of the company’s official, legally recognized name per the Secretary of State’s website on June 19, 2009.
G. Permits issued between June 19, 2009 and December 31, 2009 expire as follows:
1. A-B: Permit expires on January 31, 2010
2. C-D: Permit expires on February 28, 2010
3. E-F: Permit expires on March 31, 2010
4. G-H: Permit expires on April 30, 2010
5. I-J: Permit expires on May 31, 2010
6. K-L: Permit expires on June 30, 2010
7. M-N: Permit expires on July 31, 2010
8. O-P: Permit expires on August 31, 2010
9. Q-R: Permit expires on September 30, 2010
10. S-T: Permit expires on October 31, 2010
11. U-V: Permit expires on November 30, 2010
12. W-Z: Permit expires on December 31, 2010
H. Permit renewal terms for permits expiring December 31, 2009, shall expire as follows:
13. A-B: Permit expires on January 31, 2011
14. C-D: Permit expires on February 28, 2011
15. E-F: Permit expires on March 31, 2011
16. G-H: Permit expires on April 30, 2011
17. I-J: Permit expires on May 31, 2011
18. K-L: Permit expires on June 30, 2011
19. M-N: Permit expires on July 31, 2010
20. O-P: Permit expires on August 31, 2010
21. Q-R: Permit expires on September 30, 2010
22. S-T: Permit expires on October 31, 2010
23. U-V: Permit expires on November 30, 2010
24. W-Z: Permit expires on December 31, 2010
I. Although some initial permit terms will be for more or less than 12-months, the amount owed for any permit issued after June 19, 2009 will be prorated to reflect the length of the permit term.
